Digital Mattes

I've composed photographs of some of the world's most typical highrises and downtown areas to form one seamless skyline, which could then be mapped cylindrically around my digital set environments for the TubeTech music video by Soul|Pix.

Since this video is set in a post nuclear war scenario, the skyline map had to receive some heavy retouching; huge scars on many facades (like on the Commerzbank building in Frankfurt, which you see here), demolished building parts, bare girder skeletons and so on. It was my first Photoshop work of that kind and I wished I would have had more than just a couple of hours for it. But this skyline backdrop was considered just a "nice bonus" and wasn't expressly asked for, so I could not concentrate too much on it in the given amount of production time.
